The Hungarian Auto Club was founded in 1900 in Budapest as labor organization. According to the development level of the motorization, it complemented its activity, with modernization of services according to the claims of driving. It had more than 600 thousand members at the beginning of the 90’s. The MAK centralized and segregated the social and supply operative tasks at the beginning of the 90’s and developed a vertical branch construction. Today is still active as non-profit organization.

MAK in three capital organizational units performs its tasks inside of the Utility Branch of Business (technical branch, Assistance branch, Touring branch, driver training, Call Center ), the Road Safety-, and Helpdesk Branch. The ISO 9002:2000 quality management systems were introduced for three organizational units from 1998 up till today. The club is the franchise's partner of the Belgian ARC Transistance as international aid network.

The wide portfolio which is typical of MAK single among the European automobile clubs, and the Hungarian Auto Club’s leaders said, the organism likes to be at the front of everything. The aid- and supplier service, the transaction of the motor vehicle exam and the leadership technique trainings, furthermore the travel realization and the rental car and the different competitions, the management of the work of the 47 technical stations through the country's five regions and 13 travel agencies means a complex task. 

These processes were introduced by the Hungarian Auto Club during the years, with unique applications, account- and invoicing program, a motor vehicle data handler which worked isolated from each other. All this is not only slowed down the processes, but heightened the risk of making a mistake, yielded an inconsistency, that jeopardized the reliability of the services and its standard on a final row.

Solution



The Hungarian Auto Club set the strengthening of the membership contacts as an aim; serve the modern car society with a qualitative standard, the correction of the efficiency of the management, the introduction of efficient supporter organization-control of solutions. The management realized that it is important to integrate a corporate management system, which is able to adapt the competition beyond the forming of its branch organization necessary the processes the accountancy, the realization, the logistics and the controlling – to put into a uniform.


Viewing of the claims and the expectations expressed in connection with the prospective corporate management system, the Hungarian Auto Club from among the big company solutions finally chose the SAP ERP. With the introduction of this the club entrusted the SAP Gold Partner specialists of S&T Unitis taking action with a grade. The project started in his 2006 February with the section of the survey and planning, which was followed by the completion of the concept plan in a May. The configuration, customization, the users' education and the testing of SAP ERP took place under a month, from May till end of October. Plenty of time left for the fine-tuning of the system, for the accomplishment of the migration tasks, and for the preparation of fine installation.

Results and experiences



The Hungarian Auto Club for the result of the successful realization of the project 2007. January started using on its full national network extending- on 47 technical stations and in 13 travel agencies with altogether some two hundred users- the SAP ERP system’s FI, SD, MM, AM, CO functions.

Yielded a considerable efficiency increase for us that we can handle the procurement process in the same function and from here we can initiate the orders as well.

The SAP ERP favors the club's financial processes, members' register and the recording of the services.
