Storage subsystems

When building an IT infrastructure, companies are often faced with the challenge of establishing a system that will be capable of responding rapidly to changes in business operations. These underlying storage subsystems have to be independent from the server platforms and should be open for all kind of applications. They must be easily manageable, highly scalable, fault tolerant, centralized, redundant and should support the business model.

Enterprise storage systems can be SAN / NAS or either Unified solutions. SAN storage systems using Fibre Channel or iSCSI as the transport layer for communication among the servers and the storage itself. It is also known as block type access while NAS solutions using file type access trough protocols (CIFS and NFS) for the communication.

Unified storages offer best of the bread solutions. One box can be used as a file server and also able to support numerous enterprise applications which need database access like Exchange, SQL, RDBMS and many others.

Today’s storage solutions also support storage level virtualization, de-duplication and thin provisioning.

S&T Unitis Hungary maintains long term and strategic relationships with the biggest storage vendors. Our engineers are well trained and have in depth knowledge in every aspect of storage systems whether it is a low-en disk pool for serving a few dedicated servers or a disaster tolerant multiprotocol multisite fully virtualized storage solution. Our aim is to help to analyze, design, implement and support the best storage solution which satisfies the business needs.
